Competition & Draft Format

Compeition Structure

The following describes the All-Stars weekend competition structure and format.

  • Rocket League Overview
    • Four team competition
      • Four starting players will participate for each team. Each player must play a minimum of at least 2 series during the teams group stage matches. A series is defined below.
        • A player must play at least 50% of the games in a series for their participation to count.
        • After a full series if 2 players have the same amount of games played, the player that started Game 1 will receive credit for the series.
    • Groups Stage (Saturday)
      • Teams will compete in a full round robin group stage to determine matches for the championship bracket.
        • All groups stage matches will be a Bo5
        • Championship Sunday
          • The Top 2 teams from the Group Stage will advance to the finals.
            • Stay Plugged In Coca-Cola All-Star Rocket League Finals is Bo7.

          • VALORANT Overview
            • Four team competition
              • Six starting players will participate for each team. Each player must play at least 2 full maps in each through the group stage.
                • A player must play at least 50% of the games in a series for their participation to count.
                • After a full series if 2 players have the same amount of games played, the player that started Game 1 will receive credit for the series.
            • Groups Stage (Saturday)
              • Teams will compete in a full round robin group stage to determine matches for the championship bracket.
                • All groups stage matches will be a Bo1
                • Championship Sunday
                  • The Top 2 teams from the Group Stage will advance to the finals.

                  Draft Format

                  For the 2024 Stay Plugged In Coca-Cola All-Stars event, we will be determing teams via an "NFL" style draft. Teams will be drafted via their designated coach (the coach is provided by Stay Plugged In). Please review the following rules in detail for more information.

                  Draft Overview

                  • Definitions
                    • Draft Day - The day in which a game title's draft takes place.
                    • Draft Order - The order in which Draft Participants make their Draft Selections.
                    • Draft Participant - Any person in charge of making Draft Selections to create their team.
                    • Draft Selection - The approved selection of an eligible player by a Draft Participant.
                    • Draft Timer - The live countdown timer that marks the in-time and out-time of a draft participant being on-the-clock.
                    • Green Room - Discord voice channel where Draft Participants gather and receive communication from the Stay Plugged In production and admin teams.
                    • Live Room - Where Draft Participants will join our stream talent for interviews and other live content segments.
                    • On Deck - Used to identify the Draft Participant whose Draft Selection directly follows the one currently On-The-Clock.
                    • On-The-Clock - The elapsed time from when a Draft Participant has been instructed that it is their turn to make a Draft Selection until the Draft Timer ends.
                    • Picks - The term that represents a player selected during the draft.
                    • Player Pool - A set of eligible players to be drafted by a Draft Participant.
                    • Round - One set of Draft Selections in which all Draft Participants select one eligible player.
                    • Selection Room - Discord voice channel where Draft Participants will join the Stay Plugged In All-Star Commissioner during their time On-The-Clock.
                  • Eligibility
                    • Only All-Star Coaches selected and approved by Stay Plugged In staff are eligible to be Draft Participants.
                    • Only All-Stars selected by the Selection Committee and approved by Stay Plugged In staff are eligible to be drafted by the Draft Participants.

                  Draft Settings & Structure

                  • Rounds & Picks
                    • All Rounds will consist of four (4) Draft Selections.
                    • Each Draft Participant gets one (1) Draft Selection per Round.
                    • Draft Selections will be referred to as “picks” when being identified individually.
                    • The Draft will include as many Rounds as necessary to ensure that all players in the Player Pool are selected.
                    • The Draft Timer will be set to 120 seconds for all picks in Round 1.
                    • The Draft Timer will be set to 90 seconds for all picks in every Round after Round 1.
                    • Draft Timer for a Draft Participant begins when the previous pick has been announced publicly on stream.
                  • Rounds & Picks
                    • Draft Order will be determined at random.
                    • Draft style will be set as “Snake Draft”.
                      • The determined draft order will be the order for Round 1, and the order will reverse each round. Example below:
                        • Assume Draft Participants A, B, C, and D
                        • Round 1: A, B, C, D
                        • Round 2: D, C, B, A
                        • Round 3: A, B, C, D
                        • Round 4: D, C, B, A
                        • Repeat the pattern of the previous 4 lines.
                      • This pattern of Rounds continues until all players in the associated Player Pool(s) have been selected to represent a team.
                      • If a Draft Participant does not lock in their Draft Selection prior to the conclusion of the Draft Timer when they are On-The-Clock due to absence, tardiness, inability to make a decision, or for any other reason, the Draft Participant in question surrenders their right to choose, and the Stay Plugged In staff will select the pick on their behalf.
                        • Picks made by Stay Plugged In staff for a Draft Participant will be based on the points given to All-Stars by the Selection Committee on Selection Day.
